When we believe somthing that belief is composed not only of the fact of the comcept that belived, but also by who the observer, or person understanding the concept is. For a person living in India it is easy to accept the Hindu failth because it is the tradition they are born to. For me, I would need to incorporate my Christian tradition into Hinduism, I  would in fact Christianize Hinduism. In the Case of Christ, he is giving a new word to the Greeks not the Jews ( All the good Jews are tring to kill Christians).  You must take into account that for 325 years now the Greeks have ruled both Persia and Egypt and all lands in between. In this amount of time the intire reagion would have been Helinized.
For the early Christians, in particular Paul, who is from Tarsus, the Greek tradition in his thinking must have strong. That tradition is dirived from the Greek panthion of Gods. That would be true also of the Egyptian, and Roman  mind set. In this tradition or theology one thing stand out, all the evil is not the Gods fault but our fault.  Central to aincent teology is the concept of human actions cause God to punish us.
I cant say which sin is worse the adoration and diefication of Mary or the rejection that our actions are central to our relation to God.  It is not sufficent to simply belive in Christ, and gain a sense of election, there must be acts ! Several times it is repeted that a rich man can not go to heaven. Christ  clearly says that to love him we must "love the least of mine"
In the same way as it is clear that there should be no priests and that there is but one way to God, in Christ, then there is also vast evidence that we should, not have money, and we should love the sinner, and help the needy.
