In whom the God of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.  2 Corinthians 4:4 The 'god of this world'? Does the New Testament suggest the existence of two gods? What kind of God would blind people? This seems to imply that Satan, the ruler of this world, is the creator god of the Old Testament. It confronts us with a stark duality between good and evil, framing Christian ideology for the meek, who are taught to turn the other cheek, while those in power are depicted as agents of deception, blinding people to the light of Christ and perpetuating oppression.
