The Timaeus is one of Plato's dialogues written around 360 BC. It shares similarities with the Jewish Kabbalah that emerged in the 12th and 13th centuries in Spain and Southern France. If we consider Christianity Jewish mysticism, we can also say that its unknowable God, the Soul and the Trinity also have Greek origins. To understand both Christianity and Kabbalah it is important to know that by 334 BC Alexander the Great had Conquered both Persia and Egypt, and the Jews would call Alexander their Messiah. The Jews were loyal to the Greek Ptolemaic Pharaohs that ruled Egypt till the Roman Conquest in 30 BC, Jews were heavily influenced by Greek culture for over 400 years before any Jewish Kabbalistic concepts would emerge.
