Lets consider telling the truth when we attempt to speak of faith. Religion is a difficult enough subject to have to defend a belief that is riddled with un truth.. in particular when we pretend that this belief is truth.
Eph. 5:6-13:
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things
the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do
not be partakers with them; 8 for you were formerly darkness, but now you
are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light 9 (for the fruit of the Light
consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), 10 trying to learn
what is pleasing to the Lord. 11 Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds
42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:
“‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;
the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’
43 “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.
44 Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”[i]
31 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.
32 Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
33 He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.”
34 Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable. So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet:
“I will open my mouth in parables,
I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world.
21 Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. 23 His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a divine promise.
12 But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath; but your yes is to be yes, and your no, no, so that you may not fall under judgment.
INTRODUCTION ON the edge of the Libyan desert, 1 20 miles south of Cairo. a series of low mounds, covered with Roman and early Arab pottery, marks the spot where stood the capital of the Oxyrhynchite nome. The wide area of the site, and the scale of the buildings and city walls, where trace- able, testify to its past size and importance ; but it declined rapidly after the Arab conquest, and its modern representa- tive, Behnesa, is a mere hamlet. A flourishing city in Roman times, and one of the chief centres of early Chris- tianity in Egypt, Oxyrhynchus offered a peculiarly attrac- tive field for explorers who, like ourselves, make the recovery of Greek papyri, with all the manifold treasures they may bring, their principal aim. The result of our excavations there during the last winter, an account of which will be published in the next Archaeological Report of the Egypt Exploration Fund, amply justified our anticipations.
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Satan does not need to receive worship to achieve his goals. All he has to do is to keep a man from following Jesus. Satan knows that anyone who does not follow in the teachings of Jesus does not have God. (2 John 9)
2 John 1:9
King James Version (KJV)
9Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
