Saving Paradise

Rita Nakashima Brock and Rebecca Ann Parker, authors of "Saving Paradise: How Christianity Traded Love of This World For Crucifixion and Empire"

Utopia, Christian sociology.  Early Christians worshiped the rising Christ , and lamented the crucifixion. Paradise in the here and now, no need for suffering for salvation. Genesis was true, God created paradise. Earth, a place to come to know how to live in paradise with the challenge of good and evil. Ignorance and greed separates us from paradise. The church was a dedicated call to alleviate suffering.  "My kingdom is not of this world", my kingdom is not of wall street, empire, materialism or torture. Constantine and the later 11th century convert Christianity into an imperial propaganda through liturgy.

The alleviation of suffering is the object of Christianity, suffering is not the way to Christ . Christianity is a call to make a better world, to create beauty.

Regain paradise, through being the foundation of ethical commitments. Power for good.
